Politics has become a part of an organization there is no organization which is free from politics. Politics shows the way that the people use to gain use power in an organization. Politics refers to the structure and process of the use of authority and power to affect definition of goals direction and the other major perimeters of the organization. 

The organization where there is politics decisions are not made in a rational ways but rather through compromise accommodation and bargaining.

2.Greed for power - Organizational politics often arise due to the unequal distribution of power among individuals or groups. Power can be derived from various sources, such as formal authority, expertise, control over resources, or personal relationships. Those who possess power may engage in political behavior to maintain or enhance their position. 

3. Exclusive authority - When decision-making authority is concentrated in the hands of a few individuals or a select group, it creates a power imbalance that can fuel political behavior.

4.Personal Incompetence - organization is the structure having many layer from top to bottom. Each one want to climb the ladder of higher label in the organization. Everyone want to promote himself in the organization to achieve higher post, power and authority. Some works on their skills and work performance and they gets achieve high level but some who enable to scale themselves but they want to climb the ladder of high level position they try to pull legs of other who are climbing with hard work this is called politics in an organization. 

5.Scars resources - Limited resources, such as funding, promotions, recognition, or opportunities for advancement, can fuel political behavior. When resources are scarce, individuals or groups may engage in political tactics to secure a larger share for themselves or to undermine others' chances of obtaining those resources.

6.Organisational change - During periods of significant change in the organization, such as restructuring, mergers, or leadership transitions, the uncertainty and disruption can trigger political behavior. People may form alliances, compete for influence, and engage in tactics to protect their positions or secure advantages in the new organizational landscape.

7.Organisational culture- The culture of an organization can shape the prevalence and acceptance of political behavior. In some organizations, politics may be actively encouraged or rewarded, leading to a highly political environment. In contrast, other organizations may have a culture that discourages or explicitly condemns political behavior.

8.Individual differences and aspirations - Individual differences in personalities, values, and aspirations can contribute to political behavior.
