Digital signature is a type of electronic signature that  is created using public key encryption. A digital signature is a Criptographic method that does a similar function to a written signature. Digital signature is a mathemetical technique used to verify the authenticity and Intigrity of a digital massege or document.

The digital signature also ensures   the integrity of the document by providing a way toe detect any changes or alterations that may have been made to the document after it was signed. if any changes ae made to the document, the digital signature will become invalid, indicating that the document has been tampered with.

Digital signature provides high level security it uses in many areas such as e-commerce online banking, Legal Documentation, Government and diffence Document process.

 How does it work?

The process of digital signature typically involves the following steps

1. The sender creates a unique digital signature by using a mathematical algorithm to generate a fixed length string of BITS also known as a hash value or message digest

2. The sender then uses their private key to encrypt the has value creating a digital signature.

3. The digital signature is attached to the original message a document creating a signed document.

4. The recipient uses the senders public key to decrypt the digital signature and obtain the has value.

5. The recipient then calculate the has value of the received message or document and compare it to the has value obtained from the decrypted digital signature if the two has value match it means that the message or document has not been tempered with and that the standard is who they claim to be.
