What are the types of decision making in management?

In the management there are many problems create everyday manager have to resolve by taking good and accurate decision.  because decision making is main part of management. To understand the nature of decisions in better way they maybe classified in some types -

1. Routine decisions :- routine decisions are based on some fixed rules and policies these type of decision can be taken easily routine decisions do not require any special effort and data. 

2.strategic decisions :- strategic decisions are more important decision of the management which are taken by the top management team of the organization the decision maker is more serious and conscious about such decisions because these type of decisions are related with policy matter and huge loss and profit of the organization. 

3.policy decisions :- policy decisions are those decisions which are related to the policy of Management these decisions are taken by the top management of the organisztion because these type of decision effects entire organization

4.operating decisions :- operating decisions are executed by the lower level management but these type of decisions are related to the policy which is created by the top management of the organization. 

5.Programmed decision :-  decisions which are predecided are called programmed decision these decision are pre determine and tested hence programmed decisions do not require much judgement. 

6.non programmed decisions:- non programmed decisions are those decisions which are made newly when situation occurred are not repeated for this type of decisions there is no predetermined standard of procedure to resolve the problem the decision needs scientific analysis and data this type of decision taken when the nature of problem is not fixed there is no single and easy to make decision for the problem. 

7.Individual decision:- The decision which is taken by the individual in the organization is called Individual decision. Individual decision are taken where autocratic management prevails and the organization is in small size. 

8.Group decision:- Such type of decision taken by the group members  of organization. These group members are   Board of directors.
