E mail :- E-mil stands for electronic mail, It provide facility to send and receive messages over network. It is originated in the early 1970s with ARPANET. E-mail is a method of exchanging digital messages between people using electronic devices such as computers, smartphones, and tablets. it allows users to send and receive over the internet or other computer networks. Email is used for both personal and professional communication, and is often preferred over traditional postal mail due to its speed, convenience, and cost-effectiveness.  


Types of email system:- There are number of different types of email systems. Each of email system has its advantages and disadvantages. User can select the email system for using itself according its uses/need and choices. here some of the common Email system. 



  1. Mobile Email system:- It is a type of email system which is specifically designed for mobile devices such as- Tablets and android smart p hones. Ex. Yahoo ,Gmail, outlook. 
  2. Client- based Email systems:- Client based email system are email systems that require users to install and download software on the computer. Ex. - Apple mail, Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird. 
  3. Web- based Email systems:- this type of email systems help user to access through a web browser.  Ex. Gmail, Outlook.com, Yahoo Mail. 
  4. Cloud-based Email system:- Cloud based email systems are hosted on remote servers and accessed through the internet. Ex. - Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho mail. 
  5. Enterprise email systems:- This type of Email system is used by the businesses and organizations that require more advanced features to secure and connect. Such as Emil archiving, message tracking.  Ex. Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, and google Workspace.
