What is the consumer protection act 1986? 6 rights of consumer.

 Right of consumer according to consumer Protection Act, 1986.

Consumer- A person who buys goods or services for personal use not for further manufacture is called a consumer. consumer is as important as producer in the market. if no consumer would not be in the market than producer would be unable to provide goods and services. consumer protection act protect consumers from fraud and protect their right to consume goods and services. There are multiple companies which try to cheat the costumer by providing them bed quality products in high prices. It is needed to resolve the problem of consumer and could get them justice. 



Consumer protection act 1986- The main objective of consumer protection act 1986, at protecting the rights of the consumers and ensuring free trade in the market, competition and accurate information to be available. 

Rights of consumer according to consumer protection act 1986 - 

1. Right to Safety

2. Right to Information.

3. Right to be heard

4. Right to choose 

5. Right to seek Redressal

6. Right to consumer education.

1. Right to Safety-  This right protect consumer against goods and services that are harmful to life and property. This right mainly applies to pharmaceuticals, automobiles, food, and medicines. 

2. Right to information- According to This right consumer to be informed about the quality and quantity of goods services being sold. In this it must be mention the price of the product and other information related to product that consumer want to consume. 

3. Right to be heard - Right to be heard is to ensure that the consumer gets due recognition in consumer court. This right ensure that the consumer complaint will be duly heard by the consumer court or redressal forum. 

4. Right to choose - According to this right, consumer can choose products according to their willing. In the market there are many sellers sell same product. hence Consumer can choose different products at competitive price. 

5. Right to seek redresessal - This right protect consumer from exploit. If consumer feels exploited, consumer can file complaint in consumer court. It is a forum that hears the complaint and justice with the party that has been exploited. 

6. Right to consumer Education - Many people in country are not aware that they  are protected by  consumer protection act. In this right consumer must be aware about their rights and and they can  access to enough information  while making  consumption decision. such information help consumers to do shopping.
